On site Online BlendedAbout the qualification
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the global body for professional accountants, with over 147,000 members worldwide. The ACCA Qualification develops accounting knowledge and skills as well as professional values. This enables students to build successful careers as finance and management professionals in any sector.
The ACCA Qualification prepares you to lead a successful career in accounting. It empowers you with information and insights that reflect the evolving times. This is why it emphasizes ethics, governance, codes of conduct, legislation, regulation, professionalism and values. Since the ACCA Qualification cultivates accounting knowledge, skills and professional values, adding the ACCA letters after your name is a recognized sign of excellence.
Who is it for?
Anyone can pursue the ACCA Qualification. But your educational background will play a role in how many exam papers you will have to take. This makes it ideal for professionals already active in accounting and people keen on a career change. Accountants, auditors, financial advisors and consultants, finance managers, free-lancers, college and university students and particularly those who pursue a prosperous career as chartered, or in the finance function of any corporation.
Benefits
It improves your career prospects and enhances your chances of promotion. It also shows employers that you will be a meaningful addition to the firm because of your in-depth knowledge of finance and accounting, including international accounting and auditing standards.
Qualified professionals have in-depth insight into tax, audit, business law, core accountancy subjects and more. Also, when firms opt to sponsor their staff in pursuing the ACCA Qualification, it motivates the team. It is also advantageous since it enhances the team’s knowledge.
Requirements
- Successful completion of the 13 modules / papers. All levels must be completed in order (Knowledge — Skills — Essentials — Options) but you can do the papers within a level in the order you wish.
- Exemptions from certain modules may be awarded by the ACCA on the basis of the candidate’s academic qualifications. Usually one up to five exemptions are awarded, depending on the relevance of the candidate’s degree (could be from a University, Technological institution, College affiliates).
- Three years of relevant work experience — this could be acquired prior to, during or after the completion of your ACCA studies.
- The completion of the “Professional Ethics Module” (e-learning and on-line assessment).
Duration
The length of time can vary depending on the exemptions awarded and the number of papers attempted in each exam session. There are four exam sessions each year, in December, March, June and in September. During an exam session, you can opt for up to four papers. You can even do papers from two different levels but only if you are finishing the lower level. You have up to ten years to complete the Qualification. As exams are in English a good knowledge of the English language is required.
CBEs (Computer Based Exams) are available for Papers MA, FA, AB, LW.
The syllabus
Applied Knowledge
The Applied Knowledge papers provide students with a broad introduction to the world of finance and develop their essential understanding and techniques in accounting.
Applied Skills
The Applied Skills papers build on existing knowledge and understanding and develop strong, broad and practical finance skills required of future strategic professional accountants in any sector or industry.
Strategic Professional
The Strategic Professional papers prepare students for future leadership positions. They develop the strategic vision using your unique blend of technical, ethical and professional skills. And you can specialise in areas that best suit your career ambitions. Students must complete both Essentials papers and choose two of the Options.
Ethics and Professional Skills module
Students are required to complete ACCA’s Ethics and Professional Skills module. By introducing students to the full spectrum of advanced ethical and professional skills and exposing them to realistic business situations, students are ready to perform in the workplace.
SOEL Joint Examination Schemes (JES)
ACCA has a number of partnerships with national accountancy bodies around the world which enables you to sit the exam component of a range of ACCA qualifications and also satisfies the exam criteria for the national accountancy body qualification. We call these SOEL (Σώμα Ορκωτών Ελεγκτών Λογιστών) Joint Examination Schemes (JES).

CIMA — Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
The CIMA Professional Qualification: nine subjects organised in three pillars and three levels, each level culminating in a case study examination, leading to the CGMA designation.
Professional Online BlendedThe CIMA Professional Qualification
CIMA’s objective in designing the syllabus is to enhance the employability of students and members. It intends to create a learning system that enables learners to acquire skills, competencies and mindsets that are in high demand by employers. This has never been more important with the pace of change increasing and traditional roles being redefined by technology and digital advances.
The Professional Qualification comprises three pillars of domain knowledge divided into three levels of achievement. The pillars are Enterprise, Performance and Financial. The levels are Operational, Management and Strategic. When combined with the required practical experience, CIMA qualified members will be capable of supporting and leading their organisations through the challenging environment of constant change. The syllabus, assessments and practical experience requirements ensure members are competent in the essential accounting, finance and business-related skills. It also provides them with the skills required to lead the finance function in a digital age.
To complete the CIMA qualification, and be able to use the Chartered Global Management Accountant® (CGMA®) designation, students need to:
- Meet the entry requirements of the professional level qualification.
- Study for and complete the relevant professional level assessments, culminating in the Strategic Case Study Exam.
- Complete three years of relevant practical experience, which can be gained before, during and/or after studies.
The CIMA Qualification Framework
The CIMA Qualification Framework includes the Certificate in Business Accounting; the Professional Qualification; Assessment of Practical Experience; and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the form of lifelong learning.
Structure of the CIMA syllabus
The CIMA Syllabus comprises nine subjects that are organised in three pillars and three levels.
The pillars
The three pillars represent specific areas of knowledge. The content of each pillar develops as students move up the qualification. The three pillars are interlinked to provide a coherent body of knowledge that will equip successful students with the competencies they require.
The Enterprise Pillar focuses on the role of the finance function and how it interacts with the organisation using data and technology. It looks at business models and the management of people and projects to achieve organisational goals. It deals with the formulation and the effective implementation of strategy.
The Performance Pillar uses the tools and techniques of management accounting and risk management to ensure that strategy is realistic and to monitor its implementation. It shows students how to use their understanding of costs to construct budgets, make decisions about prices and capital expenditure, manage costs and manage performance. Digital costing is introduced alongside traditional costing techniques and cost management is expanded to reflect its growing importance in an increasingly competitive environment for organisations. It develops the ability of students to progressively identify, classify and evaluate various risks to an organisation, including enterprise risk, strategic risk and cyber risk and manage these risks predominantly through internal controls.
The Financial Pillar focus is the financial accounting and reporting obligations of the organisation. This includes an understanding of the regulatory framework and external reporting requirements, including integrated reporting. The ability to construct and evaluate complex financial statements, including those relating to group accounts to show the financial position and performance of an organisation is essential. The principles of taxation and the tax implications of financing decisions are covered. It also looks at formulating financial strategy, which is linked to the formulation of organisational strategy in the Enterprise Pillar and assessing risk in the Performance Pillar.
The subjects in each learning pillar are designed to be sequential, from Operational to Strategic Level, encouraging the progressive development of knowledge, techniques and skills.
The levels
The syllabus is also divided into three levels of achievement. Students progress from the Operational Level to the Management Level and finally to the Strategic Level. At each level students study subjects across the three pillars.
The Operational Level focuses on the short term and the implementation of decisions. Students will be able to work with others in the organisation and use appropriate data and technology to translate medium-term decisions into short-term actionable plans.
The Management Level focuses on translating long-term decisions into medium-term plans. Candidates will be able to use data and relevant technology to manage organisational and individual performance, allocate resources to implement decisions; monitor and report implementation of decisions; as well as prepare and interpret financial statements to show performance.
The Strategic Level focuses on long-term strategic decision-making. Candidates will be able to support organisational leaders to craft strategy; evaluate and manage risks that might prevent organisations from successfully implementing strategy; value organisations; and source financial resources required to implement the strategy.
Learning outcomes
Each syllabus section contains one or more lead learning outcomes, related component learning outcomes, topics to be covered and explanatory notes that help provide the context for that topic area.
Each lead learning outcome defines the skill or ability that a well-prepared student should be able to demonstrate at the end of the period of learning.
The lead learning outcomes are part of a hierarchy of learning objectives. The verbs used at the beginning of each learning outcome relate to a specific learning objective. Eg, ‘Analyse the features of internal control systems’. The verb ‘analyse’ indicates a high-level learning object (level 4). Because learning objectives are hierarchical, it is expected that at this level, students will be able to examine and communicate the role, features and purpose of internal controls in managing organisational risks.
Examination blueprints
For the first time, from 2019 examinations onwards, CIMA will publish examination blueprints based on the syllabus. It will set out in detail what is examinable in each of the objective tests and case study examinations for a given period and will provide information about the format, structure and weightings of the assessments. It is intended that blueprints will be updated and published annually.
For more information, go to cimaglobal.com/examblueprints.
CIMA assessment strategy
Each level of the CIMA Professional Qualification culminates in a case study examination, which integrates the knowledge, skills and techniques from across the three pillars into one synoptic capstone examination.
The case study examination is a role simulation, requiring candidates to respond to authentic work-based activities presented during the examination, drawing together learning from each of the three subjects to provide solutions to the issues and challenges presented.
Case study materials are provided in advance of the examination to allow candidates time to immerse themselves in the fictional organisation and industry within which the simulation will occur and to undertake analysis of the organisation’s current position prior to the examination.
The case study examination at each level simulates the job role linked to the level and focuses on the core activities which employers expect competent individuals in those roles to routinely perform.
Objective tests for each of the individual subjects ensure the acquisition of the breadth of knowledge, skills and techniques which provide the foundation for approaching the case study examination. More details of both types of assessment can be found in the examination blueprints at cimaglobal.com/examblueprints.
All assessments are computerised and CIMA works in partnership with Pearson VUE, who have over 20 years of experience in offering electronic testing. There are currently over 5,000 Pearson VUE test centres in 180 countries. Locations of Pearson VUE test centres can be found via the CIMA website.

Exam format and length
Computer-based experience. 3 hours, 45 minutes in length. 134 questions.
Descriptions of exams
The SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams contain two types of multiple choice questions: stand-alone knowledge-based items that assess a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of factual information, and scenario-based situational judgment items that assess a candidate’s judgment, application and decision-making skills.
Knowledge items
There are two categories of stand-alone knowledge-based items on the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams. Items in the first category, referred to as HR-specific knowledge Items (KIs), cover key concept topics associated with the HR functional areas, while items in the second category, referred to as foundational knowledge items (FKIs), cover key concept topics considered foundational to the eight behavioral competencies. Examinees receive credit for selecting the correct answer to a given question; otherwise, no credit is awarded.
Situational judgment items
Situational judgment items (SJIs) assess candidates’ judgment and decision-making skills, which are not easily measured using traditional knowledge-based questions. Examinees are presented with realistic work-related scenarios and asked to choose the best of several possible strategies to resolve or address the issues described in each scenario. Although more than one strategy may be effective for addressing actual work-related scenarios, examinees only receive credit for choosing the best possible answer, as determined by a panel of experienced HR professionals. All other answers, which reflect either less effective or ineffective strategies, receive no credit.
Field-test questions
Each exam contains field-test items which are not counted as part of a candidate’s score. Field testing allows us to gather data on a question’s effectiveness before it is included on future exams as a scored item. Examinees’ answers to field-test items do not count toward any part of their exam scores, and are only used for item development purposes.
The field test items on the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams are randomly mixed with scored exam items so that candidates will not be able to distinguish them from scored items.
Exam structure
Computer-based testing, in two exam windows. Two sections on the exam; 3 hours, 45 minutes exam time; administered in two equal halves. 134 total questions: 80 stand-alone Knowledge Items (67 Knowledge Items and 13 Foundational Knowledge Items) and 54 Situational Judgment Items.

ICAEW — ACA
The ACA studied as a classroom, online or supported blended programme, with experienced tutors reachable out of hours, marked assignments and live debriefs of every mock exam.
Online On site BlendedHow the programme is delivered
We offer a classroom, on-line or supported (blended) online programme, combining online learning with some classroom time at key stages throughout the qualification and weekly “surgeries” for additional study support.
We set regular assignments for marking and feedback, and provide full subject tutor contact details, encouraging students to get in touch at any time, including evenings and weekends, if they need help. The online lectures are all pre-recorded so can be completed over the recommended number of study days.
Overview of our working methodology and approach
The following principles are embedded into our approach to ensure that our courses inspire students to achieve excellent pass rates.
- Use of experienced tutors (international & local) who use lots of real life examples and provide their home/mobile phone numbers for out of hours study support
- Live online debriefs of mock exams immediately after they have been attempted, so students can ask for guidance and feedback whilst the questions are fresh in their minds
- Detailed script feedback on all marked mock exams
- Regular “surgeries” enabling students to ask for additional help and support
- Friendly and knowledgeable support team who can help with any general, technical or administrative queries (international & local)
Supported Online Programme
The keys to a successful online programme are:
- making students feel that they are part of a cohort rather than isolated with their studies, and giving them the confidence to contact their tutor at any time if they are struggling
- lots of guidance and feedback on exam performance
Incorporating some classroom time and regular live online sessions helps give the programme structure and gives students the opportunity to come together and share their experiences.
The main advantage to you of our online programme is that study leave can be spread over a flexible study period allowing you to work around busy audit periods and minimise business disruption.
Classroom Sessions
All classroom sessions will be led by our senior tutors who are the subject matter experts in the UK. Students who wish to stay after class and use our facilities for private study are welcome to do so and tutors normally stay for at least an hour after class for extra questions.

About The ICTTF
The ICTTF – International Cyber Threat Task Force was established in 2010 as a not for profit initiative promoting the ecosystem of an International independent non-partisan cyber security community. We have been committed to fostering collaboration, networking and knowledge sharing for almost ten years now.
Over that decade, we have constantly innovated on how best to achieve our mission. From online community portals, apps, local membership chapters and International events we have strived to work with our thousands of members from around the world.
Our mantra is “It Takes a Network to Defeat a Network” and our primary objective to foster collaboration and networking has been immensely successful, with our events culminating every year with our annual EU Cyber Summit.
The “bad guys” are strong, highly organised and well trained. Knowledge is power and power is strength. The ICTTF was born in Ireland and when launched used the slogan “Ní neart go cur le chéile” which in English translates to “There is no Strength Without Unity”. To be strong we all need knowledge and that is why we have developed this online training academy, so organisations can get their staff cyber strong and unified.
We will continue to work with our cadre of global cyber security, risk and privacy experts to develop the world’s best cyber academy. Our first offering is our “Certified Cyber Risk Officer” course and is designed as a non-technical syllabus for business leaders.
